[ he's pausing for a moment or two because anything he could say sounds like he wants something from this or cares. ]

[ Then again, by Dazai's profession, he seemed to be a capable person; if they ran into trouble he could fight back. So maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to have him come with. ]

[ Lifting up his hand. There's bandages on his fingers. ]

I don't know if you'd fall for a distraction, either.

No, you couldn't. I'm also hoping you didn't hurt yourself too badly.

[ Said immediately upon seeing the bandages. ]

...And no, I wouldn't. Not right now.

[ Time to head to the door. ]

[ He'll hop off the bed and follow after him. ]

[ He'll watch him work, even though he put all of that there in the first place. ]

[ He already had Ango really upset about how he keeps getting hurt... once the door is opened, he'll loop an arm around Rean's. ]

Might as well stay close. If anyone asks what we're doing, we can pretend we're going on a date.

[ A night stroll when there might be a murder, but it might be shocking enough people won't question it or will lower their guard. ]

[ He wasn't expecting the arm around him, but...it's fine. It's not the first time someone has done that, so he'll easily allow it.

At the suggestion, though— ]

...Do you really think anyone would believe that?

[ Rean looked a little embarrassed. ]

Though I know you're just messing around again.

They might. Or they will think you're being pulled along into one of my schemes. Maybe they'll come rescue you instead?

[ That thought is amusing. ]

Maybe they'll believe it more if we hold hands?

[ He'll laugh ... ]

[ Pause. Rean turned over some things in his head as they walked out into the hall. He wondered, did the other really just want to hold his hand? He could only smile at that. Sure it had been so long since he had with anyone, but it'll be nice with a companion.

And maybe he could turn the joking around on him a bit. He was a little curious to see his reaction. ]

If you really wanted to hold my hand, all you had to do was just ask. Also, I'm sure with the both of us close together, and because of who we are, we'll make an efficient patrol.

[ Rean has too much faith in people. ]

Mikami would~ He would probably tell you to watch whatever touches me.

[ There's a beat before he leans into the other for a moment. ]

I think we look pretty cozy like this already.

[ This is going to be why he starts stepping up the teasing, isn't it ]

[ Rean suddenly remembered how Mikami was and he had JUST learnt of Dazai's profession, so now everything had fallen into place.

...And now the brunet had been leaning into him. Rean's soft attempt at a tease failed to the surprise of literally no one, as he felt the embarrassment come back to his cheeks. ]

Dazai...I guess I'm not winning this one. Let's just get going.

[ He'll just shake his head, but when he moved forward it wasn't abrupt. ]

[ He might have to mess with Mikami even more now.

Brown eyes look up to try to catch that embarrassment. He almost feels bad. Almost. He really likes winning though. Letting go to pat him on the back. ]

Right? You should just accept defeat.

[ For whatever this is. He does hold out his hand for Rean if Rean wants to take it. ]

I don't really know him well, but I hope he might consider me a friend someday.

[ Rean's sure that Mikami has some good in his heart. He just needed to kind of chill on the CRIMINALS NEED TO DIE thing, first.

Though he could understand why someone might have a certain viewpoint like that, it just wasn't his cup of tea. ]

Luckily, for you, or maybe for me, I know when to quit.

[ Actually no he didn't if it involved him having to protag but shh. He'll reach out to take a hold of Dazai's hand, since he offered, and lead him out of the housing, to the square. ]
