[ Ango will find the door to his bedroom unlocked and the smell of a scented candle (a sandalwood scent) wafting out. It's been a while since he's seen a similar scene. Dazai's shoes will be found around the entrance and the man himself will be sprawled across Ango's bed. He seems to find the wall pretty fascinating or maybe he's just zoning out. The weird thing is, he doesn't seem to react to Ango being back yet.]
Before even approaching Dazai, Ango goes over to his desk and sets his items down on it. A notebook, some pencils, a couple glowsticks. The snowglobe is back too, as he never found its owner. They're probably dead, he reasons. The gun is also placed on the table too, instead of being tucked away like he normally does when he's not carrying it.
Only then does he approach Dazai, pulling up a chair next to the bed.]
[ He can tell it's Ango from the sounds of his foot steps coming in, but he still doesn't move or greet him until after Ango says that. Looking at him before the corner of his mouths lift just a bit. ]
Got a reminder about why I shouldn't want for anything.
[ Sitting up, as he looks at Ango. ]
I'm trying to figure out if I want to prolong any suffering by still wanting it. [ A beat ] Lady also killed again. Someone fairly innocuous. She might be getting out of control with her temper.
[For all of Dazai's everything, he's still a teenage boy. And given his lack of closeness to most people here, it's not hard to guess why he's moping.]
[ He's slipping, but it's easy to do here when he's not living constantly with violence. The violence here is mostly scheduled, which leaves room for other things it seems. ]
He says it's not the time or place. He also doesn't want me to wait. Waiting isn't really for me though.
[Ango isn't going to argue with what Rean had to say, because honestly it's all legit. As much as Ango doesn't want Dazai to get hurt, this really isn't a good time or place for romance. And Rean probably didn't want to leave promises of 'after' when there was no telling what would happen to all of them.
[ It's all he knows how to do really. He could work on charming him or trying to get his way, but it would all be for naught anyways. And Rean deserved better. ]
If we both make it out, he would leave me in the end anyways.
[ For a moment though... he did have a smidgen of hope. It was pretty foolish of him. ]
Assuming we can go back to our respective worlds, he could make that choice, yes. Though if we're stuck in this one permanently, that could change things.
[He's not saying it to give Dazai false hope. He's saying it to be pragmatic.]
But carrying on does sound like the wisest choice. Still, you have my condolences. And, ah, a 'shoulder to cry on', if you need it.
at the same time, man is drawn to death. Death is endlessly consumed by men in cities and in literature. It is a singular event in one's life that none may reverse. That is what I desire.

[ For a lot of reasons which are basically Dazai is Dazai. ]
What about you? Want to cry on my shoulder about anyone?
[ Let's just turn the conversation on to Ango ]
